A little bit of history...

The Regal cinema is a well-established landmark in the Western suburbs.

The cinema has provided movie entertainment for many generations of families growing up in Brisbane.

Regal cinema timeline

The site where the Regal Twin now stands has been associated with film exhibition since the 1920s. An open air venue romantically titled "Graceville Picture Gardens" flourished in the silent movie era.

During the mid 1930s the "Talkies" arrived and a permanent theatre was constructed on the site.

In 1953 the cinema was renamed the Regal to coincide with the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.

Many changes have taken place since and only the name of the building has stayed the same.

The Regal has evolved and matured into a modern Boutique Twin cinema catering for lovers of quality art house cinema.
